5 Common iPad Issues And Their Fixes

There are will always be problems with the technology you buy. There are a series of problems that can often frustrate you or make you anxious, especially when they hinder with the functionality of your device.  It can often lead to you panicking, especially if your device is an iPad.

These days, people are more invested in their devices than ever. Everything from music, to communication and internet surfing is now done with one device, so it is not uncommon for people to get overworked when their device doesn’t cooperate.

With an iPad, there are things that you can diagnose and fix yourself, rather than take it to a technician, who will charge you for doing everything you can do yourself. Some of the most common problems that occur with an iPad and ways you can fix them are listed below:

Dead Spots on the Screen

A good way for you to see if there are dead spots on the screen is to download an app that lets you draw, and color all over the screen. This is also known as a spot test, where the damaged, dead spots will become revealed. To fix this, you need to check the digitizer ribbon cable to see whether or not there are dust particles in it or not. If that is not it, then check to see if the cable is inserted properly or not.

Phantom Touch Syndrome

This is also common, but a little more difficult to spot test. Basically, what happens when your iPad has a phantom touch syndrome, it will open apps on its own or swipe to a different page. To diagnose this, you can turn off the auto screen lock feature in your iPad and wait for fifteen to twenty minutes. If the screen starts to change, or apps start to open on their own, you will have your answer. To fix this, you can simply troubleshoot the device to let the problem fade off.

Unresponsive Power, Mute or Volume Buttons

This will mostly happen if there is damage to the power button and the volume cable or if the buttons have merely worn out over time. There are also cases where the ribbon cable needs to be replaced or the logic board might be damaged. If so, a simple replacement will fix your problems.

WIFI Connection Problems

If your device is either slow at receiving signals from your WIFI or if internet is slow to cooperate, it means that there is antenna damage. The way to diagnose this is to compare your device with a device that works perfectly and see the difference. If there is a significant problem in receiving signals, then you can have the antenna replaced.

There are many things that can happen to an iPad device, not only the ones listed above. You can figure out what the problem is with a few easy steps. This means that when you take it in for repairs, you know exactly what is wrong and have it properly fixed.
